About Me
Joseph Lee has the passion for computers at an early age. He started programming at School in the early 80s on his Apple ][ computer, and commercially in the late 80′s. Since then he has involved with countless software and web sites as lead developer and project manager. Two of his recent projects won the British Travel Awards for Best Innovation (2006) and Travolution Best Travel Insurance Web Site (2008) awards. Joe has a wide range of experiences in enterprise software design & development, network & data centre operations, and computing security & control. He is currently specialised in Web 2.0 projects, using open sourced technologies, and is constantly finding ways to enhance and improve user experiences on Web Sites.
Joe is currently the Director of Technology at Journeys Travel Insurance, a leading Travel Insurance company based in the United Kingdom. Apart from overseeing Journeys I.T. operations, he is also Systems Architect and Lead Developer of Journeys’ flagship online product: Journeys Extranet, and has implemented various enterprise applications such as C.R.M., Unified Messaging, Mailing List Management, and Intranet Groupware.
Prior to joining Journeys, Joe was a Technical Director for Microlink Systems and a Senior Software Consultant for Telstra Australia.
Joe is a professional member (MBCS) of the British Computer Society (BCS) and a member of BCS Elite, a group represent the Senior IT Management community within the BCS.
When Joe is not at work, or meddle about with technologies, he can be found spending time with his family.
